New regional monetary statistics on loans are now available on the Indonesia Premium Database. |
These datasets covers loans made by commercial and rural banks across 33 regions of Indonesia (ranging from Aceh to Papua). |
The presentation distinguishes between industrial and non-industrial loans made in each of the respective 33 regions. Industrial loans made are further classified into different economic activities (such as mining and quarrying, trade, hotel and restaurant and services, among others). Non-industrial loans are similarly broken down into loan types (such as housing, shop house and office house and vehicles, among others). |
Province-specific data are also available for different types of banking institutions including state and regional government banks, private national banks and foreign and joint banks. |
At an aggregate level, industrial loans comprise the bulk of total loans (approximately 70%) while private national banks are among the largest lenders among commercial banks (over 40% of total loans). |
Region-specific disaggregation allows users to consider the use of banking credit in funding industrial activities in that particular region. At the same time, details on non-industrial loans provide useful signals on large asset purchases by different regions through the different loan items. |
