Where available, these statistics replaces data computed according to the NAS 1999-2000. There are over 500 administrative districts in India. |

Data are available on a yearly basis and are compiled by the respective State Statistical Departments and covers all relevant administrative districts in the State. |

Data are available for both the absolute gross / net district domestic product and the per capita gross / net district domestic product and for current and constant prices (i.e. at 2004-2005 prices). |

Participating States adopting the NAS 2004-2005 include Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Rajasthan. |

District level disaggregation allows analysts to get a more detailed understanding on the key economic districts. |
|
District level per capita information also allows analysts a better understanding of the disparities in per capita statistics within various districts. |
