SGST the largest contributor to tax revenue in India
For Andhra Pradesh, as well as Karnataka, the yearly SGST contribution is more than 30%.
The GST collected by each state is shared equally by the centre and the state. While the SGST remains a part of the state revenue, the total CGST and IGST revenue is devolved as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission, which is currently at 41%.
Delving deeper into state finance data reveals that State GST is the largest contributor to tax revenue in the state. For Andhra Pradesh, as well as Karnataka, the yearly SGST contribution is more than 30%.
