Questions relate to production, orders and stocks of finished goods. KOF started the manufacturing survey in 1955. Data are derived from the results of monthly and quarterly surveys. The sample comprises 1600 enterprises and the response rate is 80%. The monthly 'Konjunkturtest Industrie - Monatsumfrage', issued 5-6 weeks after the end of the reference month, publishes detailed data for the reference month on the Monthly Industrial Tendency Survey results. The quarterly 'Konjunkturtest Industrie - Quartalsumfrage', issued 5-6 weeks after the end of the reference quarter, publishes detailed data on the Quarterly Industrial Tendency Survey results. The panel is replenished at an irregular basis. No cut-off regarding firm size is used. However, large firms are usually oversampled. Respondents can use an online questionnaire or a paper questionnaire.
